South Island only selling today with an offering of 7,230 bales. The selection consisted of 38% crossbred fleece mainly poor colour, 75/150mm, 15% good to average crossbred second shears, 25% lambs mainly good colour 2-3 inch, 12% associated oddments, 6% halfbred fleece and 4% miscellaneous. Strong competition from China, India and local mills, supported by the United Kingdom and Europe.

Shears

Good colour shears 1.5% dearer.

Lambs

Good colour, lambs firm with a small discount for lambs with VM

Clothing oddments well sought after up to 10% dearer.
