Market dearer again.

Comment

North Island only selling today with a small offering of 5,250 bales. The selection consisted of 70% good/average colour crossbred shears, mainly good colour length +/-3″, 10% crossbred fleece good colour, 5% end of season clothing lambs 29.0-31.0 micron generally average colour, 10% associated oddments, mainly clothing lengths and 5% miscellaneous types. This week’s North Island auction carried on with similar buyers sentiment from last week with another good lift on the good colour favourable types. The competition was widespread with most buyers competing strongly and most sectors operating finishing on a positive note.

Crossbred Fleece fully 7% dearer.

Second Shears

All descriptions 5% dearer.

Lambs

Good/average colour sellers favour.

Oddments

Clothing oddments all descriptions 3% dearer.

No wool sale next week. The next auction will be combined North Island, offering 8,900 bales and South Island offering 9,800 bales on 6 August 2020.
