AUSTRALIAN WEEKLY MARKET REPORT
Comment
The small national offering failed to stimulate the market. A generally poor-quality offering and limited trading activity restricted the market movement. In the end, while a little lower across the board, there was little real change over the week. The few better fine micron lines are still attracting reasonable competition. There won’t be many more opportunities to secure the good fine fleece types this season beyond the few sales in February.

Forecast
The large Chinese top makers continue to dominate in the smaller sales. Carding types, skirtings and crossbred fleece still seem to be the types of most interest to the traders. We expect a relatively firm market next week.
