Expanding Our Global Network, One Fibre at a Time!
On 11th March 2025 we had the pleasure of welcoming SICA Mohair and around 40 French mohair farmers to Pettinatura di Verrone, the Italian combing mill of the Schneider Group, to explore the transformation process of their fibre.
For over 30 years SICA Mohair has been a key reference for French mohair, acting as a cooperative and broker that collects, sorts and manages the transformation of greasy mohair at national level. As part of this collaboration, Pettinatura di Verrone is responsible for the combing of mohair in Italy – an essential step to ensure the highest fibre quality.
In 2024 SICA Mohair entrusted us with the combing of locally sourced French mohair, ensuring that this exceptional fibre retains its quality, performance and softness throughout the process.
During the visit, we had the opportunity to exchange insights on the technical specificities of mohair combing, the differences compared to wool and alpaca processing and the importance of traceability and responsible fibre management to ensure excellence in the final product. Farmers also had the chance to observe the combing process first-hand, gaining valuable insight into this essential stage of production.
