Comment

South Island only offering 5,425 bales today.  Selection consisted of 17% crossbred fleece average/good colour, 75/150mm, 25% hogget fleece, good colour, 6% crossbred second shear and hogget shears mainly good colour, 5% lambs good colour, 15% crossbred oddments, good to average style, 6% merino fleece, 4% merino hoggets, 7% merino oddments, 5% halfbred fleece, 5% halfbred hogget fleece, 5% halfbred oddments.

Main competition Europe and India, supported by the United Kingdom and Australasian carpet mills.

Crossbred fleece good colour and average firm.

Merino up to 2.5% cheaper across a broad selection.

Halfbreds fully firm.

Shears

Good colour firm.

Average colour 1.5% dearer.

Oddments

Average colour up to 5% cheaper.
