North Island selection consisted of 24% crossbred fleece average/good colour, 75/150mm, 61% crossbred second shear and hogget shears mainly good colour, 6% lambs good colour, 8% crossbred oddments, mainly average colour and 1% miscellaneous types.
South Island selection consisted of 51% crossbred fleece mainly good colour, 10% halfbred fleece good colour, 4% merino fleece, 6% crossbred shears, 21% oddments, 6% lambs and 2% miscellaneous types.
Main competition Europe and India, supported by the United Kingdom, China and Australasian carpet mills.
