Summary

Market eases slightly.

Comment

Both Islands selling today.  North Island offering 5,175 and South Island offering 7,280 bales.

The selection consisted of 29% crossbred fleece good/average colour, 75/150mm, 35% crossbred second shears good/average colour, 50/100mm, 25% lambs fleece good colour, 10% associated oddments average/poor colour and 1% miscellaneous types.

Main competition on good colour wool was the United Kingdom and Europe, with China and India soaking up the poorer colour fleece.  Support from Australasian carpet mills.

Fleece

Crossbred fleece all types buyers favour.

Shears

Crossbred shears 1% cheaper.

Lambs

Good colour lambs firm.

Poorer style buyers favour.

Oddments

Crossbred oddments 1% cheaper.
